Testing & reports

Eureka Analytical Services measured 14.01% total magnesium in submitted raw-material lot MG/GCN/010826 (report TR-26-EKA1-090488-02, issued 10 September 2026). Avon Food Lab reports AFLPL/260910095 and AFLPL/260910099 cover heavy metals and selected microbiological parameters for submitted sample batch ACS05500. These reports support the measurements reported for those samples. They do not independently establish the percentage chelated, prove the absence of every other magnesium form, or measure the elemental magnesium in a finished two-capsule serving. The formulation description and the laboratory findings are different kinds of evidence.

Scientific papers

Published research is not a test of this finished product. Study doses are context, not directions for use.

  • Lopresti, Smith & Drummond (2026) — systematic review of oral magnesium and sleep

Finding: A systematic review of 12 randomised controlled trials of oral magnesium taken for sleep outcomes in adults.

Limitations: Results across the trials were inconsistent and the authors rated the certainty of the evidence as low to very low. They did not support oral magnesium as a routine treatment for insomnia.

Relevance to this pack: General magnesium evidence, not a trial of this HealthyHey formula or its 121 mg serving. Magnesium forms and doses differed across studies.

    DOI: 10.1080/19390211.2026.2719670
  • Schuster and colleagues (2025) — randomised controlled trial of magnesium bisglycinate in adults with poor sleep

Finding: A randomised controlled trial in 155 adults with poor sleep, giving 250 mg elemental magnesium a day as magnesium bisglycinate for four weeks.

Limitations: The change in self-reported insomnia severity against placebo was modest (a small effect), and sleep was not measured objectively.

Relevance to this pack: Research on the bisglycinate ingredient form, not proof of this 14% product's effectiveness. The studied dose differs.

    DOI: 10.2147/NSS.S524348
  • Mah & Pitre (2021) — systematic review & meta-analysis of oral magnesium for insomnia in older adults

Finding: Three trials involving 151 older adults suggested faster sleep onset, but no statistically significant increase in total sleep time.

Limitations: Evidence certainty was low to very low.

Relevance to this pack: General magnesium context. The trials used oxide or citrate, not this product, at different doses.

What does 14% mean?

The 14% figure describes the elemental magnesium share of the ingredient weight; it is not an absorption rate or a purity score.

  • Magnesium Glycinate 14% — this 30-capsule pack 121 mg elemental magnesium per 2-capsule labelled serving
  • Magnesium Glycinate 22% 121 mg elemental magnesium per 1-capsule labelled serving

Equal labelled magnesium is not proof of equal absorption; the reports linked here do not establish clinical superiority of either format.

Does 14.01% magnesium prove full chelation?
No. It measures total magnesium in the tested raw-material sample. A result near 14% is compatible with bisglycinate composition, but chemical-form identity and degree of chelation need appropriate additional evidence.
Why does this product use two capsules?
That is the labelled serving for this formulation. The two capsules provide 864 mg of the magnesium glycinate ingredient. Capsule count alone cannot establish whether another product is chelated.
Is 121 mg the same as my total daily requirement?
No. This is the labelled supplemental amount per serving. Your total intake also includes food and other sources. Whether a supplement is appropriate depends on your individual needs; do not take extra servings simply to match a general intake figure.
Can I check the report for my batch?
Use the report link above and compare the sample or batch identifier. If it does not match your bottle, contact HealthyHey for the relevant report and batch linkage.
