Testing & reports

Two Avon Food Lab reports cover submitted samples from batch KH053150. AFLPL/260427039, issued 6 May 2026, covers microbiology; AFLPL/260501003, issued 5 May 2026, covers heavy metals, reported below their quantification limits, which is not the same as zero. The samples were not drawn by the laboratory, so results apply only to those samples, not to every bottle and not to the selected pack's current batch. They do not verify the 600 mg finished serving, a silymarin potency, or any clinical effect. Compare your bottle's batch details against the full reports.

Scientific papers

These papers discuss milk thistle and silymarin as ingredients, not a clinical trial of HealthyHey's finished product. Study amounts are context, not directions for use.

  • Abenavoli et al. (2018) — Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) in liver research · Review

Finding: The authors review milk thistle's chemistry and bioavailability alongside preclinical and clinical liver research, and conclude that further well-designed randomized trials are still needed.

Limitations: A review of varied studies rather than a trial of a finished product. Preclinical observations are not clinical proof, and the review does not establish an outcome for this pack.

Relevance to this pack: This label states 600 mg milk thistle extract per labelled two-capsule serving. An extract amount is not the same as a standardized silymarin dose, so the review is ingredient-level context only.

    DOI: 10.1002/ptr.6171
  • Fried et al. (2012) — Silymarin in chronic hepatitis C · Randomized controlled trial

Finding: Among 154 patients with chronic hepatitis C who had not responded to interferon, 420 mg or 700 mg of standardized silymarin three times daily for 24 weeks did not significantly improve serum ALT versus placebo, and showed no effect on HCV RNA or quality of life.

Limitations: The participants were a chronic hepatitis C population taking a different preparation at far larger amounts. This was not a trial of HealthyHey's finished product, nor of ordinary healthy users.

Relevance to this pack: Ingredient-level context only. The amounts studied are not directions for use, and this reported negative result supports no disease-prevention or treatment claim for this pack.

Understanding extract amount & serving size

The extract amount and this pack's capsule count are different figures on the label.

  • Milk thistle extract 600 mg per labelled two-capsule serving
  • Serving size 2 vegetable capsules
  • Capsules per pack 120
  • Servings per pack 60

These are labelled amounts. An extract mass does not state a standardized silymarin content and does not establish a dosing regimen or any treatment outcome.
